Factors affecting Unmet healthcare needs among older Persons with Disabilities applied by Andersen¡¯s behavioral model

Abstract
Objective : The purpose of this study was to examine the factors affecting Unmet healthcare needs among older Persons with Disabilities.

Methods : This study analyzed factors influencing unmet medical experience among the disabled aged 65 years or older who participated in the 2017 National survey of the disabled data. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, X2-test, multiple logistic regression with the SPSS win 21.0 program.

Results : It was found that 19.0% of elderly people with disabilities were unable to visit hospitals even if they wanted. The main reasons for experience unmet medical care were ¡®inconvenient transportation¡¯ and ¡®economic reasons¡¯. As a result of performing multiple logistic regression analysis on the unmet medical experience of elderly people with disabilities, it was analyzed that age, education, subjective economic status, disability type, stress perception rate, and suicide attempt variables had a statistical significant effect.

Conclusion : We should consider for practical interventions including health care policy establishment and medical guarantee for the elderly with disabilities, the type of disability, economic status, and stress management should be considered first. Practical programs and projects that can reduce the unmet experiences of the elderly and disabled should be established.
